Teach Your WhatsApp AI in Plain Language (No Coding, No Flow Charts)
Your business does not stand still. A new promo drops this week, a price goes up next week, a new product lands, and there is always that one question customers keep asking that your AI fumbles. The trouble with most chatbots is that updating them feels like a software project. You raise a ticket, you wait, and meanwhile the AI keeps giving the old answer.
ForwardChat takes a different route with a feature we call Teach Your AI. You suggest a new answer or an update in plain language from your dashboard. Our team reviews it and publishes it into your Knowledge Base. After that, your WhatsApp AI answers using your new knowledge. No code, no flow charts, no waiting on a developer.
One thing to be clear about up front. You suggest, we review, we publish. You are not editing the live AI directly, and we do not promise instant changes. That review step is there on purpose, because it catches conflicts and keeps your answers accurate.
How Teach Your AI works
Inside the AI Knowledge area of your dashboard there is an "Add an answer" composer. You describe the question your customers ask, then you type the answer you want the AI to give. That is the whole thing. No JSON, no rules engine, no flow builder to learn.
When you submit it, your suggestion goes into a review queue. The ForwardChat team checks it against what the AI already knows, looks for anything that contradicts an existing answer, confirms the facts read correctly, and then publishes it into your Knowledge Base. From that point the AI uses your new knowledge when a customer asks.
Pick the answer style that fits
Not every answer should be phrased the same way, so the composer lets you choose a style.
A fixed reply is sent word for word. This is the one you want for prices, deposit amounts, refund policy, operating hours, and anything where the exact wording matters and you do not want the AI improvising.
A smart reply lets the AI phrase your point naturally in its own words. Good for softer questions where a warm, conversational answer reads better than a stiff script.
A tappable menu gives customers a short list of options to choose from. Handy when there are a few clear paths, like picking a service, a branch, or a package, and you want to guide the conversation instead of leaving it open.
Why this matters for Malaysian SMEs
A small business in Malaysia changes faster than any developer roadmap. Raya promo this month, a price adjustment after a supplier increase, a new product you just started carrying, a festive bundle for the weekend. If updating your AI means emailing back and forth and waiting days, the AI is always one step behind your real business.
Teach Your AI closes that gap. You spot the thing your AI is missing, you suggest the answer in seconds, and we publish it. Your WhatsApp line keeps speaking for your business as it is today, not as it was last month.
A real example
Say you launched a Raya facial promo two days ago and a customer messages your salon line that evening.
Customer: Hi, ada promo Raya tak for the facial package?
AI: Hi! Yes, our Raya Glow promo is on until 30 April. The signature facial is RM128 (normally RM168), and it comes with a free brightening mask. Nak saya book a slot for you?
The AI gets this right because the owner opened the composer that morning, suggested the promo as a fixed reply, and our team published it into the Knowledge Base. No customer was left with a vague "let me check" while a brand new offer was already running.
Teach Your AI vs an AI that learns on its own
These two work together but they are not the same thing. Teach Your AI is proactive. You add knowledge before customers ask, because you already know the promo or the price change is coming.
Separately, your AI also improves quietly in the background when your staff correct its replies over time. We cover that side in the WhatsApp AI that gets smarter every week. One is you deliberately adding answers, the other is the system learning from edits. Most ForwardChat businesses lean on both.
Getting started
If your AI keeps missing a question, or you have a new promo or price to load, you do not need a technical person to fix it. Open the AI Knowledge area, suggest the answer in plain language, and let our team review and publish it into your Knowledge Base.
Want to see it on your own business first? Check the pricing to find the plan that fits, or book a demo and we will walk you through Teach Your AI with examples from a business like yours.
